Q & A MOTHERS DAY EDITION

WITH TATIANA HAMBRO ARADER

What qualities do you admire most in your mother?

Her energy and present-ness. She has a remarkable ability to see, and mean really see, people and hold them in a very loving way. It’s something everybody comments on, whether they’ve known her a lifetime or just met her in line at the coffee shop.

How do you hope to emulate your mothers strengths?

I dream about one day being able to lay out furniture and hang pictures with as much panache as she.

What have you learned from your mother?

The importance of unconditional love in parenting. I hope to instill within my own children the purity of her love; I’ve never questioned it.

What is the best piece of advice your mother has given you on your journey in motherhood?

Be patient, remember to breathe!

How do you prioritize self-care & maintaining your identity, while now having not one but two little ones?

Outsource however you can! It’s virtually impossible to prioritize yourself when looking after babies. Even washing one’s hair is a feat.

What advice would you give to other mother’s based on your own experiences?

Trust your baby. Not google.

What has been the most rewarding aspect of motherhood for you?

Being able to love and to nurture one’s children and witness them becoming who they are.

“ROSEWATER HOUSE TAKES THE HUMBLE BLOUSE AND ELEVATES IT TO SOMETHING VERY SPECIAL THROUGH CULTURE AND HERITAGE CRAFT. THE DELICATE COTTON VOILE IS SO SOFT AGAINST THE SKIN—I’D SWADDLE MY NEWBORN IN IT IF I COULD—AND THE ARTISANAL EMBROIDERIES AND PEARL EMBELLISHMENTS ON THE COLLAR, CUFFS, AND COVERED BUTTONS ARE JUST EXQUISITE”
